Anne Whelan

Anne is a visionary leader with more than 20 years of home care industry experience. Since taking the helm of
CareGivers Inc. in 2007, the organization has attained substantial growth. Guided by the values of integrity,
entrepreneurship, community, action, and fun, Anne leads her team to continually look for better ways to do
business and enhance service delivery.She embraces new technologies and encourages continuous education and professional development.

In addition to leading Seafair Capital, the parent of her group of companies, Anne currently chairs the board of directors of Newfoundland Power, a subsidiary of Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS). She is also a director of BDC, Canada’s business development bank, and of CSA Group, a Canadian standards organization with global operations in testing, inspection and certification. Anne contributes her time and talent to various other regional boards and community service initiatives.

Anne has received many accolades for entrepreneurship and leadership, most recently being named the Startup Canada Entrepreneur of the Year for an outstanding impact in Canadian entrepreneurship. She was awarded the P.J. Gardiner Entrepreneurship Award from Memorial University (2017), named one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful
Women (2016), Atlantic Business Magazine’s CEO of the Year (2014), NLOWE Entrepreneur of the Year (2013), and awarded the Canadian RBC Momentum Award (2010). In 2012, she was awarded a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for her contribution to home care.

Anne holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Memorial University and has completed the Directors Education Program from Rotman School of Business.

Brent Meade

Brent is a strategic senior leader with more than 20 years of experience in economic, social, policy, and
program development and leadership in the public sector. He brings skills in strategic planning, project
management, operations, communications and human resources to our team.

A highly regarded public speaker, presenter, board member, and mentor, Brent is natural and persuasive
communicator, recognized for his keen ability to create consensus among divergent groups. He has a proven
track record of playing a contributory role in major civic and community initiatives and programs.

Brent currently leads the Care Partnerships division of Seafair Capital, including CareGivers, Momentum and Blue sky Family Care. He is immersed in the issues and challenges facing the home support sector, and is leveraging his diverse experience to ensure these organizations continue to operate with a focus on excellence in client service.

Brent holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Acadia University and a Master’s Certificate in Project
Management from York University.

Matthew Head

Matthew brings more than 10 years of experience in leading progressive care delivery models. He started
his career with the Seafair group of companies working on the front line providing child and youth care, quickly
progressing into supervisory and management roles. Matthew brings immense operational knowledge
paired with strong leadership skills. His deep understanding of people and process has enabled him to lead many of our care companies through immense growth.

Prior to moving into his current role, Matthew was the Senior Director of Operations for Seafair’s Home and Community Care Division. Now, as VP of Consumer Health Care and US Operations, Matthew plays a key role in leading our start-up home health agency, Life Home Health, in Florida and providing strategic oversight to our home health retailer, HealthQuest.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Memorial University and has completed the Advanced Leadership Program through the Gardiner Centre.
